CONNECT Contributes $11,000 to United Way

While changing the lives of 28 Professional Women

Greenwood Village, CO - Twenty-eight professional metro-Denver women recently benefited from a 1½ day seminar entitled “Power, Politics and Partnership,” thanks to CONNECT: The Knowledge Network and the Mile High United Way Women’s Initiative.

“Power, Politics and Partnership” is a dynamic interactive workshop that teaches its participants to use concrete strategies for working more constructively across organizational silos, addressing issues systemically rather than personally. Through CONNECT’s donation of the time and talent to teach the class and the United Way Women’s Initiative invitation-only approach to offering the class, the collaborative effort realized $11,000 in donations to the United Way Women’s Initiative.

Great West Life donated their beautiful facility in Greenwood Village for the class, and CoBiz Bank donated lunch for the attendees. Maureen Clarry, CONNECT Founder and CEO, and Lorna Rickard, CONNECT’s Organizational Development Specialist, orchestrated the workshop, teaching the executives in attendance unique insights into achieving maximum productivity and profitability within their organization. They also left with an understanding of the multiplicity of roles each plays and how to approach each role with more effective behavior.

“I felt energized after this class,” stated Heidi Canono of Delta Dental Plan of Colorado.

“WOW! The concepts are fundamental, but the impact is huge,” Michelle Webster of Molson-Coors Brewing Company added.

“The exercises very clearly showed how the principals worked,” was another comment made by Barbara Springer of Delta Dental.

Eve Powell, Director of Major Gifts for the Mile High United Way, presented the CONNECT team with a plaque of appreciation for the company’s contribution to the United Way Women’s Initiative.

The Clarry-Rickard team will next be working through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to introduce “Power, Politics and Partnership” to those invited to attend their hosted event in June.
